Tuhoe Fish Quota

The quota received is inshore, deepwater and freshwater quota. The calculation of quota was based upon formula set under the Maori Fisheries Act 2004.

In shore quota is based upon a coastline formula and deepwater quota is based on a split formula of 25% coastline and 75% iwi population. Freshwater quota will be allocated to iwi whose rohe is within the quota management area established for the particular freshwater species.
