Strategic Direction

One of the Trustees' first priorities was setting a clear long-term direction. We are pleased to report that the Trustees completed the TFCT's five-year Strategic Plan in February 2008.

The Trust's vision is, "Tuhoe Mana Motuhake - Mo Ake Tonu: Our potential is realised, our leadership unified, and our prosperity and identity as Tuhoe is strengthened". Our mission is to, "Protect, grow & utilise Tuhoe fisheries assets for the benefit of current and future generations".

As part of these high-level outcomes, we set five strategic priorities. These are to: (1) provide good governance; (2) manage & grow our assets; (3) maximise benefits for Tuhoe; (4) engage our Tuhoe nation; and (5) work well with others. Detailed actions of how these are to be achieved are outlined in the Annual Plan, approved in April 2008.

We will report progress against the strategic and annual plans throughout the year as part of ongoing communications, and welcome comment and feedback on the Trust's plans.
