Tuhoe Fisheries Charitable Trust

The TFCT was established in 2006 as the Mandated Iwi Organisation for Tuhoe under the Maori Fisheries Act 2004.

The primary role of the TFCT is to administer its assets for charitable purposes benefiting all Tuhoe, whether registered with the Trust or not, throughout Aotearoa.

TFCT received cash settlement assets from Te Ohu Kaimoana Trustee Limited (TOKM) of $1,135,457 for the benefit of all Tuhoe.

The TFCT has been able to keep administration costs low by not employing staff or having offices and has benefitted from high interest rates on bank deposits.

The Guardian Trust in Rotorua provides administration and financial management services for the Trust.
